One of the many difficulties that University students face throughout their studies is struggling with loneliness. It affects our productivity and motivation while taking a toll on our mental health. In this blog we aim to explore the ways in which small social justice movements have been created on campus to combat loneliness and how loneliness does not necessarily equate with mental illness. We have each experienced a sense of loneliness throughout our years at UBC (University of British Columbia) so we have also created this blog as a resource center to collect the different ways and methods that are made available to prevent loneliness. We aspire to explore loneliness as a topic and help students seek a community to help them feel more welcome and at home.
